first of all i am terribly sorry but don't speak any hungarian...however, after having had a great time @cmbp in september i hope this forum can help my cause...
well, i am a passionate cyclist (mtb->cc, race) and for already a few months i live in budapest and did not yet manage to find any mates who are crazy about cycling as well...even my poor tries in google did not bring any results...so, if u know any specialised forum, club or any people willing to cycle together please forward links, emails, phone numbers
any response in english, german, bulgrian or french is highly appreciated.

Welcome!
First of all, you can blog here with most of the bikers. You can see CM-cyclists Budapest-wide, with the well-known CM stickers on. At Deák Ferenc tér, in the "Gödör" park, you can often find the professionals, you will recognize them of their orange bags.
Don't forget that some traffic laws and habits are different here than in many other countries. With any questions you can look for bikers on "Milli" (linked in the first comment) or blog here.

@lele. ja, i often see the messengers around but to be honest i did not try very hard to get in touch with them up to now.
and yes, even normal cycling innercity is quite different here. never experienced so many reckless drivers anywhere else...

Cycling in Budapest is everything but not boring. I think it's true for the whole territory of Hungary.
Last year I took some longer journeys in countryside by my bike. I felt inner-city riding is safer. Speed of the vehicles is definitely higher and some drivers overtake very aggressively. I mean they don't leave enough space to go back to their lane and pass the opposing traffic securely.
There are even worse places than Budapest.

ha a fenti két gondom bármelyikén segíteni tudnátok valamilyen formában, az aztán tényleg erősítené a Budapest-Berlin zöldbarátságot :) előre is kösz.
